In this role you will support and improve product quality and improve the robustness of processes that deliver quality. The role holder will also look to improve supplier quality performance working with colleagues in the department.
What are your responsibilities?
- Promote and improve business processes to ensure robust delivery of quality. This could be supported with Key Performance Indicators and Metrics.
- Identify risks for product quality and formulate plans to mitigate risks identified.
- Work to ensure that internally and externally effective change control processes are in place to deliver quality.
- Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives internally and work with suppliers to initiate improvement opportunities.
- Support the New Value Innovation (‘NVI’) process to represent Product Quality where required and work with “swim lane” owners to deliver NVI objectives.
- Conduct internal audits as necessary to support quality assurance and quality system requirements.
- Conduct supplier quality and performance audits to ensure suppliers and their products and service delivery are capable and to minimize and eliminate waste.
- Support Procurement to assess and rank suppliers for cost, quality, capability and “on time” delivery performance.
- Communicate with Procurement and suppliers to resolve non-conformance issues with supplied materials, follow up with suppliers for completion of corrective actions and preventative actions (CAPAs).
What do you need to be successful in this role?
- A “can-do” attitude with a focus on quality. Able to communicate at all levels in the company and lead and work in teams to achieve the best outcomes for product quality and effectiveness.
- A Degree or technical qualifications would be an advantage.
- Relevant experience working on quality and / or improvement activities required.
- Knowledge of lean best practice, product quality and system quality an advantage.
