Job Description Summary
Drives quality throughout the change lifecycle working in a cross-disciplinary team. Undertakes & manages testing of more complex code changes across multiple types of testing to deliver products that are fit for purpose and meet the quality standards that our customers expect, based on deep domain and technical expertise. Understands the importance of testing and the Quality Framework within LBG and educates other change disciplines. Looks to automate testing where appropriate, updating and streamlining the test automation framework & coding standards deployed within the team. Participates in & establishes Communities of Practice, Guilds and improvement working groups and shares learning to members of their team. Undertakes mentoring and coaching as well as additional leadership activities. Keen to deepen their technical knowledge and understanding as well develop, practice and demonstrate the workplace skills and behaviours required for this job role.

About the role:
As Quality Engineer, you'll play a key role in driving quality software solutions into production. You'll work in a highly collaborative way, working closely with other specialists and engineers from LBG, suppliers and partner resources, located in the UK and offshore.
You’ll aim to deliver exciting customer driven solutions whilst reducing risk by implementing the right level of engineering artefacts through Agile testing, Building our automation practices and approaches on real software delivery, with an "Automation first" approach in every phase of the software delivery process that aids speed to market and better quality.
Some of the activities you’ll be involved in include:
- You'll play an important role in driving the quality software solutions into production.
- You’ll be continually challenged, motivated, mentored and supported and help define “Done” from a Quality perspective and design/deliver exciting Test solutions in line with the Test Strategy and our QA Engineering principles.
- You’ll work pro-actively as a Quality Engineer, playing a leading role to enhance the ways of working for all QE’s
- You’ll drive test automation solutions and expanding the current capability
What are we looking for in you?
- You’ll have a good and developing understanding of Test Automation tools and methods
- You'll have sizeable experience as an automated tester/software engineer, with a passion to lead quality engineering and automation, and it would be helpful if you had some of the following:
- Problem solving, written and verbal communication, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Great interpersonal skills with the ability to create strong working relationships with analysts, engineers and delivery partners
- Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on testing, evaluating, and improving engineering outcomes.
What else could you bring with you?
- Technical background and able to learn and develop technical skills (building test automation solutions)
- Knowledge of the Agile methodology and the systems that support this (Jira, scrums and stand ups)
- Knowledge of the latest DevOps practices and tools
