Job Purpose
Lead the Quality activities within Manufacturing, supporting the implementation of a Quality mindset across Manufacturing. Perform a variety of activities related to Supplier Quality. Production Line Inspection/Audits/Non-Conformance Processing, and Customer Feedback with a focus on Corrective Action and Continuous Improvement. Participate in Product Introductions into Manufacturing. Support Quality and Environmental Management System processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify, investigate, and drive containment & corrective action for defects related to Supplier performance.
- Support customer complaint cases ensuring effectiveness of specified improvement actions; track customer complaints and issues through resolution.
- Document root cause and countermeasures for identified product and material failure trends.
- Perform Process and Product audits,
- Support defect processing, disposition, and corrective action for defects discovered during Manufacturing processes.
- Ability to effectively problem solve and root cause process and material issues.
- Identify areas for improvement related to the Cost of Poor Quality.
- Work on inter-department projects.
Additional Responsibilities may include:
- Ability to use quality data to identify trends.
- Knowledge of SAP and ability to mine and extract data, run reports, searches, etc.
- Ability to create, use and apply common problem-solving tools such as FTA/Fishbone/DOE/8D etc.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree from accredited 4-year university in the field of Engineering (manufacturing or electrical) or relevant equivalent military experience.
Experience:
- 2-4 years
