The Content organization within Ancestry is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer. Each year the Content team transforms hundreds of millions of historical records from a variety of sources into a digital format that allows our customers to make powerful discoveries about their past. This is a distinct type of quality assurance role when compared to software and app development or physical manufacturing. We measure how precise and accurate the imaging and transcription of historical documents are. The key to success in this role will be the ability to translate unorganized data into applicable process improvement.
The Quality Assurance Engineer role analyzes and improves the QA program for Content’s operations. You will guide an integrated QA solution including detailed oversight of vendor quality. You have quality management, operations management experience and vendor management experience.
What you will do...
Identify the causes of quality issues and work with the team to implement corrective actions
Ensure KPIs are measured and audit sampling methodologies are optimized to ensure both accuracy and efficiency of the quality program
Ensure reporting mechanisms are in place to track vendor and internal quality
Coordinate and calibrate QA procedures and validation results across internal and external efforts to improve quality
Communicate with vendors to improve quality assurance processes and calibrate and validate audit results
Who you are...
Proficient with data manipulation and visualization using SQL, Microsoft excel (can perform complex functions), and PowerBI
Knowledge of advanced sampling methodologies and their role in ensuring quality measurement
Lean Six Sigma experience required
Experience setting up a quality assurance program and driving quality improvement in a vendor environment
2-3 years of quality management experience required
B.S. or B.A. in a relevant field required (e.g. business, engineering, or related field)
Some travel may be required as well as flexible hours

We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position: $69,000-$100,000 with eligibility for bonus, equity and comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision.
