Key Responsibilities
- To undertake Documentation, Maintenance and QC tasks as directed by the QC Lead.
- To prepare samples for analysis.
- To undertake analysis of raw materials, intermediates and final product, using GC, HPLC, FITR, KF and titrations to allow release to production or clients.
- To support the QC Lead in routine, non-routine analysis, method reviews, problem solving and trouble shooting.
- Ensure compliance to the company’s QC system, Policies, SOP’S and WI’s.
- To enter results using the company’s ERP system and maintain the company’s record database, as required.
- Being professional, open and helpful in regards to questions about results of tests, the methods used and the operation of the instrumentation.
- To support other departments to ensure work priorities and client expectations are met.
- To support Research and Development in the development of processes.
- To review and check technical documentation, SOP’s WI’s and Policies.
- To keep themselves and others safe and to look after their welfare as so far is reasonably practical. Ensuring the QC laboratory is likewise run in a safe manner and ensure compliance to company procedures.
- To enter results and maintain the company’s record database, as required.
- To complete relevant paperwork.
- Effectively communicate with employees, auditor’s, suppliers and clients, to ensure QC requirements and tasks are understood, undertaken and completed in a timely manner.
- To build good working relationships and confidence with all other employees, visitors, contractors and clients.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- A degree in Chemistry, preferably in Analytical or qualified years of experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
- Knowledge and experience of analytical techniques and operation of GC, HPLC, FITR, KF and titrations.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, to include Word and Excel.
- 1-2 years of Quality Control experience with relevant industry experience, i.e. fine chemical or pharmaceutical manufacture.
