Hovat is a leading producer of printed packaging for a variety of different food items such as Butter, milk margarine, tea, sugar and flour. We also operate packaging lines for paper straws, bag-making and a small label division all within our site at Larkfield
Job Description
The key responsibilities of this role are:
- An understanding and use of current Quality Management Systems including how documents are referenced.
- Updating the document navigation.
- A good understanding of the BRC Global Standard for Food Packaging.
- Managing corrective and preventative actions for non-conformances, including root cause analysis closing of ICs, and verification of effectiveness within the allotted timescale.
- Ensure that QMS documentation is audited for accurate completion, maintained and controlled using the document control procedure.
- An understanding of H&S policies and practices.
- To complete and investigate customer complaints including investigation, reporting, actions and follow-up, including resolution communication to the customer.
- Ensuring independent process and product checks are completed in each area according to the schedule and relevant actions are taken.
- Product testing and specification compliance.
- Undertake 3rd party and customer audits by the presentation of information to the auditor.
- Conducting traceability exercises for internal and external auditors.
- To participate and comply with all relevant internal auditing such as GMP, Glass & Hard plastics, Site standards, Hazards and risks, product safety and LEV reporting the key actions and following up.
- An understanding of the HACCP system, ideally to level 3.
- An understanding of FMEA and TACCP systems etc.
- To know all Critical Control Points and the associated process for checking them.
- Update existing or write new policies, procedures and processes in conjunction with the compliance
- To train and verify the training of our standards, protocols and systems to relevant team members.
- To help drive the training through mentoring.
- Drive standards and actively provide coaching to promote the safety & quality culture within the business.
- FSC control for associated paper products.
The successful candidate will have:
- Some quality assurance experience and a sound knowledge of BRC.
- Some experience of HACCP, TACCP and FMEA preferred.
- A desire to learn and grow with the company.
Working hours are 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday - Friday
25 Days Annual Leave.
