ABOUT THE JOB.
Our Quality Technician will champion increased awareness in Quality and Food Safety, and monitor adherence to QMS policies and procedures. Working as part of an integrated technical team, building, and promoting a Food Safety culture at all levels on site.
You’ll also be responsible for….
- Auditing compliance against Quality Management Systems, GMP and HACCP controls, raising all non-conformances against relevant standards with objective evidence - effectively communicating to enable the operational teams to take the appropriate and necessary corrective action.
- Confirm the sites adherence to legal and customer standards through auditing of product and operational processes against customer codes of practise.
- Ensuring independent process and product checks are completed in each area according to the schedule and relevant actions taken if out of the limits or specification given.
- Identifying the site traceability system in order to complete audits/demonstrate compliance and retrieve information for investigation purposes
- Preparing and facilitating taste panels in accordance with procedure, ensuring that all results are accurately recorded and communicated to site.
- Calibration of measurement equipment in accordance with schedules and procedures.
- With guidance from Line Manager, coordinating day to day activities to deliver improvement of Technical KPIs.
- To verify that finished products are assessed on QA taste panel and meet agreed specification
- An understanding and use of the current Quality Management System including how documents are referenced.
- Conduct quality assurance spot checks in the production areas to ensure that the product is being packaged correctly against legal and customer requirements.
- Post hygiene swab verification.
- Deputising for the Area Quality Leader.

- Able to communicate effectively at all levels

WHERE YOU’LL WORK…
You’ll be based at our Scarborough plant in North Yorkshire. We opened this plant back in the swinging sixties, but it’s definitely not stuck in the past. It’s one of the largest French fry factories in the world and after a recent development, it’s also one of the most high tech. Our team of over 300 colleagues work hard to make sure the quality of our products keep our customers returning for more, for now and years to come!
WHAT YOU’LL WORK…
The shift pattern is 2 days (7am-7pm) followed by 1 day off then 2 nights (7pm-7am) followed by 3 days off.
