Job description
A vacancy has arisen for the position of Quality Assurance Assistant. The successful candidate will be keen to ‘make sure it is right’; ideally have good communication skills in their native language; a reasonable standard of written English and a working knowledge of our factory. An understanding of the broader requirements of quality control is desirable but not essential - full training will be given as required.
Core Responsibilities
1. To ensure that all our products meet or exceed specification and to communicate effectively when they do not!
2. To monitor and record key safety and quality checks around the plant.
3. To ensure that all our legal requirements are met for weight control.
Specific Duties
1. To ensure that our all products meet or exceed specification and to communicate effectively when they do not!
2. To ensure temperature records are accurate and maintained throughout the plant (product, sterilisers, and process areas).
3. To carry out calibration and process checks of monitoring equipment e.g. metal detectors, temperature probes and gas mixers.
4. Obtaining product weight data in line with Trading Standards requirements.
5. Checking product labels for accuracy and legality.
6. Preparing samples for lab testing and retention.
7. Assisting in project work within the technical department.
8. Collating, filling and archiving of QA documentation.
Experience And Profile
The profile for this role is expected to be a keen ‘get on and do it’ approach, with good communication skills, able to impose standards, whilst being reliable and thorough. High levels of motivation and the ability to work as part of a small management team (without close levels of supervision) are key. Must not be afraid to ‘muck-in’ and show initiative! Some flexibility in hours may be required.
