Job description
We look forward to reading your application for the role of Quality Assurance Adviser.
The selected candidate will design, undertake and advise on quality assurance activities for national programmes of learning and assessment for policing, developed by the College, and delivered by Police Forces, Higher and Further Education Institutions, and other providers, to support effective implementation, provide reassurance of ongoing consistency and quality and to facilitate continuous improvement.
Person specification
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Providing advice and guidance within the College on all aspects of quality assurance of learning and professional development to support consistent product design, delivery, assessment and accreditation to nationally recognised quality standards.
- Producing and maintaining programme specifications for national learning programmes in consultation with the Curriculum and Qualifications team that clearly document the management, delivery, assessment and accreditation requirements, to support consistent delivery against quality standards.
- Collating and reviewing evidence of compliance with Programme Specification requirements to inform management and governance groups on utility and efficacy of the programme in improving learning standards for professional policing.
To be successful in this role you’ll need:
- A Level 6 qualification (degree or equivalent qualification / experience)
- Relevant training, teaching or quality assurance qualification appropriate for professional education settings (Level 4 or higher)
- Experience in developing and implementing quality assurance frameworks within a learning and professional development context
- Proven ability to quickly build rapport creating strong, effective, credible and successful partnerships with the ability to negotiate and facilitate positive outcomes
- Experience of producing clear, concise, evidenced reports with realistic recommendations

This role is available as a permanent opportunity to all applicants, or a 2 year secondment opportunity to:
- serving police officers substantive in the rank of Sergeant, or those officers suitably qualified for temporary promotion in the rank of Constable. All applicants must have the support of their Chief Officer which must be of NPCC rank, i.e., CC, ACC or DCC and this must accompany an application.
- serving police staff at the equivalent rank of Constable who have their chief officer's approval. Chief Officer’s approval must be of NPCC rank, i.e., CC, ACC or DCC. Approval for a secondment must accompany an application.
