It is essential that we are constantly striving for improvement in the design, development and delivery of our qualifications, and that we constantly review our approaches to these processes so that we are producing the very best and most relevant qualifications for our learners and others who rely on them.

The main purpose of this role is to manage the development of new strategic or bespoke developments as well as contribute to the scheduled and reactive reviews of the existing qualification portfolio.

The Qualifications Developer will be an expert in the qualification development process with great project management skills to ensure that developments are delivered on time, meeting budgetary and regulatory requirements. The Qualifications Developer will also support other teams with advice and guidance relating to qualification development and other processes which are managed by the qualifications team.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys getting their teeth into a project and taking ownership of their work. It requires a huge amount of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate qualification development projects.
  • Complete compliant development processes in line with internal policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and develop the qualification development process, working to improve and streamline the process ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Manage external stakeholders and associates who are involved in the qualification development activity to ensure the project is delivered on time.
  • Identify specialist knowledge where required to support the development of qualifications and communicate clearly with internal teams such as Quality and Recruitment.
  • Contribute to the development of assessments managed by stakeholders to ensure they are fit for purpose before regulation of the qualification.
  • Proactively research and take forward new development opportunities which can include partnerships and collaborations with new and existing stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of qualification development and other processes where applicable.
  • Systemic review of qualifications and undertaking withdrawal process for products to be retired.
  • Produce and review specifications and other documents associated with our qualifications accurately and in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain our database of qualifications to ensure all entries are up to date and accurate.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure all available development information is accessible for new upcoming developments and newly regulated qualifications.
  • Represent Training Qualifications UK at sector and Awarding Organisation forums.
  • Contribute to the Marketing and Business Development strategy to provide technical advice and guidance on the qualifications.
  • Keep up to date with regulator updates, policies and initiatives relating to qualification development

Other responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of TQUK internal processes and of the wider educational landscape
  • Respond to internal and external queries for Qualifications and support other teams
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of TQUK products and services
  • Manage data: inputting, filing, and monitoring
  • Contribute to the maintenance of team Standard Operating Procedures
  • Support and complete qualification withdrawals where applicable.
  • Support and conduct qualification validity reviews in line with an established process where applicable.
  • Support with centre devised assessment queries from recognised centres and colleagues
  • Support with Accredited Prior Learning and Recognised Prior Learning for recognised Approved Centres.
  • Contribute the Qualifications Monthly Newsletter.
  • Support the wider qualifications team with decision making and queries relating to qualification processes.
