Reporting to Data and Quality Director – Commercial Bank, you will be part of an agile, future focused, and collaborative team. On any day of the week, you might assess the operational strengths and vulnerabilities involved in a recent acquisition, design enhancements to our business platform to support new and existing products, deep dive into an advanced technology solution built with machine learning to direct process improvement, or proactively identify and respond to high profile issues or emerging risks of utmost importance to C-suite level committees.

As the Commercial Bank (CB) Data & Quality (DQ) Control Manager Vice President you will be an integral part of the Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) Data & Quality Management team supporting the WLS Quality Control Program and engagements related to our key Control and Regulator requirements (SOX/CCAR). This leadership role will ensure successful partnership with WLS Operations, Control Management, WLS Data Owner and CB Finance by coordinating efforts across various lines of business and systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all controls, and delivering timely high quality products or services. This role will report to the WLS Data and Quality Director and assist in creating a Quality Control Center of Excellence (CoE) supporting Quality Control across WLS. These efforts will require partnership with Control Managers, Data Owner, Technology, Risk Management & Analytics and others to drive the agenda to streamline processes an increase effectiveness of the Quality Control Program. The role will also work closely with various Operational roles and peers across the WLS Control management team and may engage with Credit Risk, Internal Audit, CCOR, and external Auditors (i.e. PWC).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Enhance a centralized Quality Control Program model which brings together efforts being done throughout WLS Control Management and WLS Operations. The program to serve as a CoE that drives data quality, process efficiencies, reduces risk, and provides systemic solutions
  • Work with Program partners, Control Management peers, and the Business to ensure Quality Control reviews are managed appropriately and that controls are sustainable. In partnership with stakeholders, evaluate and perform an end-to-end analysis of the business’ Quality Control Program environment to identify significant gaps and weaknesses and determine root cause of control breaks.
  • Help enhance control governance and reporting to identify meaningful metrics to inform on health of operational risk and control environment; escalate control breaks based on key reporting indicators; and provide input to control committees and forums. Provide control related due diligence to business units to foster a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols
  • Leverage technology and process improvements to mitigate reliance on manual processes
  • Meeting administration: Lead designated meetings to include establishing deadlines for key partners, delivering meeting minutes, and working with key partners to ensure the meetings continue to add value. Create Power Point/Pitch Pro material as needed.
  • Perform ongoing analysis of program related data (e.g., KRI/KPI) and develop ad-hoc reports as requested to support business-related programs and strategies which may include enhanced reporting, diagnostics, and analytics with user-friendly dashboards.
  • Strategic management of proposals to resolve complex scenarios which require the consideration of operational impact, regulatory obligations, and a dynamic product and control climate

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of related work experience; or a Master's degree and 8 years of related work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in financial services industry with background in controls, audit, quality control, operational risk management, or compliance preferred; or equivalent subject matter expertise in a relevant business related function/operation. Knowledge of data warehousing technologies a plus & lending domain experience / knowledge. Expert in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Power Point/ Pitch Pro)
  • Previous change management program experience with proven success & Previous experience & expertise and a true passion for process innovation, design, and digital technology with proven success delivering complex, large scale initiatives
  • Demonstrated project management & leadership experience in financial services
  • Demonstrated experience managing and collaborating with multiple teams, coordinating across different cross-functional initiatives, and reaching consensus with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, time management, planning skills and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities. Ability to visualize and present complex messages to stakeholders and executives
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to multiple levels of management, both written and verbal. Excellent judgement and independent decision-making ability
