- Permanent role, working 40 hours per week, 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with flexibility to meet the needs of the business. This may require occasional weekend work.

You will work closely with the site QA Manager and deputise in their absence. You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the QA Manager with day to day technical activities. This includes leading third party BRC / EHO audits and inspection in their absence, to ensure the sites certification / approval status is maintained.
- Deputising for the QA Manager on the site HACCP team and carrying out validation work and trend analysis to support the sites HACCP plan.
- Assisting with the introduction and implementation of food safety and quality procedures for day-to-day manufacturing operations.
- Leading management meetings and presenting technical information as requested by the QA Manager.
- Providing technical support for site product recall / withdrawals and have the ability to lead the incident call in the absence of the QA Manager.
- Monitoring and maintenance of the product testing requirements, including analysis of results and instigation of investigations and corrective action plans.
- Supporting the site with the management of non-conforming products and complaint investigations.
- Driving operational standards by completing internal audits in line with the sites internal audit schedule.
- Overseeing the site QA Team to ensure effective implementation of food safety and quality management systems, and prerequisites.
- Supporting the QA Team with their targets, objectives, and development plans.
We are looking for individuals who are driven, and can demonstrate:
- A Degree or HNC level education in a Food Science based subject.
- HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 4 qualifications
- A good understanding or experience of high care manufacturing environments
- A good understanding of BRC Global standard requirements and experience participating in internal and third party audits.
- Proven experience in investigations and internal audits with strong attention to detail
- Proven experience of leadership, decision making and report writing
- A result focused approach with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others.
- Have experience of, and the ability to multi-task and work with multiple priorities calmly and at pace.
- Have advanced IT skills including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
