The Project Management Office Supervisor IT provides supervision, administration, and planning of technology projects. Includes software development schedules, project deliverables, and project processes. Supervises, coaches and trains project management office staff. Solves project conflict, keeps open communications from multiple teams to identify solutions, creates and leverages networks of people to solve problems efficiently. Tracks all project documentation, and ensures projects are following the enterprise architecture plan. Defines goals for the project management office and plans work tasks around alignment with the goals created. and report to the IT Operations Manager. Position will travel statewide occasionally.
- Tracks all project and activity documentation, ensuring each phase is being documented correctly. Keeps track of schedules, sprints, and milestones, Makes suggestions proactively in an effort to meet the goal dates of the project. Keeps the IT Operations Manager and PMO updated with project and documentation progress.
- Supervises staff by defining and establishing schedules, setting priorities, providing support/direction and dealing with administrative issues as needed. Trains staff on operational procedures and troubleshooting. Coaches team members on performance and completes performance evaluations.
- Manages interrelationship among various internal and external organization functions regarding assigned projects. Develops Methods to monitor project process and takes corrective action. Ensures that the projects being developed align with the enterprise architecture plan for the Information Systems Branch.
- Along with the Enterprise Architect, defines immediate and long term goals for technology platforms. Sets the priorities for the Project Management Office, and tracks the operational plan to ensure the alignment of the goals with the priorities of the Information Technology Branch and the Department.
- Assists with Information Technology policies and procedures documentation and managing, monitoring and tracking all project related costs and other relevant activities performed by the department.
- Perform other duties as assigned
The candidate must have a thorough knowledge of project management, customer service principles and processes, desktop applications, standard operating systems, common third party software applications, and other computer related technologies. Thorough understanding of project management principles and practices, understanding of software development life cycle methodologies, understanding of agile and waterfall concepts.
The candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks. Supervise the management of project based standards and practices while defining new approaches to fit the priority projects. Excellent problem solving skills with attention to detail, and strong customer service skills. Monitoring progress of the project management office and escalating issues as needed.
The candidate must have ability to work collaboratively in teams and across organizations, and ability to synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly. Ability to supervise multiple projects ranging from large to small and prioritize their delivery schedules. Ability to understand and anticipate needs and priorities of both internal and external customers. Ability to balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks. Ability to work collaboratively in teams and across the department.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Information Security or equivalent experience of at least three years of experience.

Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training.
