Paediatric Clinical Team Leader - Outpatient Department
Location: Cromwell Hospital, London SW5 0TU, ( 5 mins walk from Earls Court underground or 7 mins walk from Gloucester Road underground .)
Job type & Shift pattern: Permanent , Full time, 37.5 hours per week. The ward is open Monday to Friday 08:00-20:30 – Long day and 20:00-08:30 - Night shift (Not open on the weekends).
Salary: £40,500 - £48,583 per annum, up to £1,350* per year working nights and fantastic benefits.
Incentives: £3,000 golden hello welcome bonus (T&Cs apply)and £5,000 domestic relocation bonus (T&Cs apply).
Role Overview:
As a Clinical Team Leader , you’ll work as part of a close-knit team providing excellent patient focused care within our Paediatric Outpatient Department. The role is based at our internationally renowned private Cromwell hospital which is in the South Kensington area of London. Our Paediatric Outpatient Department has an average of 80 patients a day covering most of the specialties. Our Paediatric ward consists of 11 permanent -beds but we often expand to up to 17 beds which could expand as well. These are mostly all short-stay medical and surgical cases however we are accepting more complex patients and developing constantly look at developing new services. patients from medical cases to surgical cases. We have varied specialities such as orthopaedics and spinal, ENT, and urology.
We can also offer rotation between the Paediatric Ward to our Paediatric outpatient department. The Clinical Team Leader has delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical areas including assessment of care needs, the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs of care and the setting of standards on a shift basis. They may also be asked to deputise in the authorised absence of the Deputy Matron.
The Clinical Team Leader will support the Deputy Matron in the management of the ward team. In conjunction with the Deputy Matron, the Clinical Team Leader will be responsible for promoting an environment conducive to individuals and teams development, ensuring the delivery of high standards of patient care in line with clinical governance.
The Clinical Team Leader will be easily identifiable, accessible and a key figure to whom patients and their families can turn to for assistance, advice, and support. To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to deliver a high standard of care to the patient undergoing medical treatment. You will be responsible for the assessment of patients care needs and for the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care.We value all our people and will provide you support and a great place to work.

What you'll do:
Using your knowledge and experience to a role model and to drive up the standards of clinical care.
Provides leadership and be highly visible and accessible to patients and staff.
Support with identifying deficits and implement programmes to address the issues with the delivery of patient care.
Motivate team members
Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
Monitor team performance and report it
Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments
Support quality improvement initiatives to drive up high quality clinical care.
Ensure Health and Safety measures are adhered to.
Communicate effective information to patients/relatives/carers/ and all members of the multidisciplinary team in line with information sharing guidelines.
Deputise for the Deputy Matron as required and developing scope for future career Opportunities.
Consistently demonstrate the ‘Six C’s’ – namely care, compassion, competence, communication, courage and commitment.
Willing to undertake internal development course in leadership and management.
Work with Deputy Matron to ensure standards in respect of all legislative requirements, including but not limited to CQC,HSE, DSE, Fire, COSHH, BLS, Manual Handling, Safeguarding Children & Adults, Information Security, Infection Control and Blood Transfusion, are implemented and adhered to.
What you’ll bring:
Senior Staff Nurse with BSC or working towards one.
Teaching/assessing qualification
ILS/ ALS as relevant
Evidence of clinical experience in the relevant area and ability to function at level required of the post
Experience of being involved in the implementation of change.
Evidence of professional leadership, leading to innovation in practice.
Evidence of continuous professional development.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal presentation skills & report writing.
Negotiating and influencing skills.
Strong analytical skills and ability to consider the wider picture.
Computer literate with good knowledge of MS word, outlook, Excel.
