Job description
You will be responsible for leading the QA/Test team working on a range of clinical systems built upon modern technology stacks. You will have a strong background in QA operating in an Agile environment and have the desire and enthusiasm to deliver but also innovate and lead on defining our test strategy.
The development team are responsible for providing systems to frontline staff at the point of patient care and testing is integral to this. Through the use of automation and manual testing the team are responsible for delivering systems that that are rigorously tested while building a repeatable pipeline of QA tests that can.
Initially the focus will be on internally developed systems but through expansion of the QA team under your watch it will expanded to assist other teams implementing 3rd party systems in to Northumbria's eco system.
You will be hands on in both Manual and Automated testing of web based applications/APIs. Capable of creating and executing system tests you will be responsible for establishing QA processes and procedures and then overseeing the testing ensuring it adheres to the NHS standards. You will be providing insight and expertise in improving the approach and processes that the teams employ.
Working with existing automation testing resource you will be given full autonomy to expand the QA function with the main focus being our internal developed applications that are built upon React/.NET. We would like to expand the QA function to make it a pivotal offering to assist other areas within the Trust such as Information Services and implementation teams.
You will ensure QA is part of the delivery pipeline that has the same emphasis as development effort and ensure QA is not just something that “happens at the end”. You will be part of a department that is not scared to embrace change and latest technologies and already operates in a cloud first environment.
