We are looking for a highly motivated Network Technician to join our expanding team in Brighton. This is a great opportunity for someone with some experience in the IT or telecoms sector who is looking to further their career in a growing network services company.
The ideal candidate will be a competent individual with good interpersonal skills, a strong appetite for learning and a great passion for technology. An analytical mindset will be essential for effective troubleshooting and planning.
The successful candidate will be involved in a mix of field and office based engineering activities.
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain equipment on customer sites and in our own data centre facilities
- Periodic checks of spares inventories and assets
- Handle support enquiries by telephone and our trouble ticketing system, carry out troubleshooting tasks and provide regular updates to the customer by telephone and email
- Assist with site surveys and development of solutions
- Liaison with other departments including sales
- Updating and maintaining knowledge base article, procedures and technical documentation
- Participate in an on-call rota for support outside of working hours
Requirements
- Proven experience as an IT or network technician or relevant position
- A good self starter, comfortable with both working in a team or on their own
- Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
- A keen appetite to learn new skills and expand knowledge
- Good written and spoken communication skills (English)
- Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with customers and colleagues alike
- Some knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies
- Hands-on experience with IT hardware & software
- A full, clean UK driving licence
- Access to own car would be ideal, but not essential
