The Role


SSP are embarking on a large-scale project that will see our legacy SQL 2012,16 environment fully migrated to Azure Cloud. Retaining the best features, we will also building out net new when we see opportunity.

As QA Engineer you will be responsible for the quality of all output from the Data and Analytics Team. You will ensure all work productionised by the engineers meets the data architect’s specifications.

This is a unique opportunity to define and shape a brand-new QA function. Using your QA experience to embed solid QA principles and practices.

You will be supported by our team of engineers and power bi specialists. In addition to our local data experts around the world.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support The Head of Data & Analytics with decisions on automation tools and strategy
  • Develop and maintain automated regression test suites (UI and API)
  • Own and maintain test environments to support a range of QA activities
  • Support manual testing where automation is not in place, defining repeatable test scripts that can be automated at a later stage
  • Proactive reporting of issues - outlining steps to reproduce, expected results and actual results
  • Ownership, maintenance and prioritisation of QA Bug backlogs
  • Provide estimates for QA input in project delivery
  • Provide creative input to QA and associated processes
  • Assist with reproduction, troubleshooting and resolution of issues.
  • Supporting other QA endeavours such as performance testing and security testing
  • Learn new emerging technologies and technical skills that are relevant to company practices

Skills and Knowledge


Essential

  • Organised and able to define and follow processes.
  • Knowledge of testing and quality assurance principles, methods, and processes.
  • Ability to multitask in an effective and organised manner.
  • Accountable for commitments made and scheduled deliverables
  • Willing to contribute what it takes to meet deadlines and deliverables
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Speaks up and contributes to continuous feedback and improvement efforts
  • Familiarity with Scrum/Agile methodologies
  • Eager to learn new skills and improve
  • Azure Analytics Platform experience
  • Ability to identify and articulate new or emerging risks to the business, getting to the why as efficiently as possible.
  • Detail oriented and a disciplined approach to process and quality controls.
  • Strong documentation skills to clearly articulate results of testing
  • Excellent organization, written and oral communication essential

Desirable

  • Experience within the Travel Food and Drink Industry would be highly beneficial
  • Multi International Geo experience.
  • An interest in data science and ML.
