About the Role
We are seeking a highly-skilled, collaborative and motivated QA Engineer to join our team. The QA Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through rigorous testing, communication and meticulous documentation. Key Responsibilities
Manual Testing
- Conduct thorough manual testing of software applications, documenting results (including defects, issues and areas for improvement) using tracking tools.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on software requirements.
- Perform exploratory testing to uncover potential issues.
Automated Testing
- Design, develop, and maintain automated testing suites for web and desktop applications using industry-standard testing frameworks and tools.
- Collaborate with development teams to identify testable features and implement automated test scripts that ensure thorough coverage.
- Execute automated test suites and analyse test results to identify failures, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement.
- Regularly update and maintain automated test scripts to accommodate changes in software functionality.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Generate clear and concise test reports that highlight testing progress, results, and any identified issues.
- Contribute to release sign-off documents based on test results and product quality, contributing to the decision-making process for software releases.
- Maintain documentation of test cases, processes, scripts and data.
Essential – Significant Experience With:
- Manual testing of software applications, including test case creation and execution.
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining automated testing suites using tools such as Selenium, Appium, or similar.
- Testing methodologies, best practices, and quality assurance processes.
- Programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, Python) to create and enhance automated test scripts.
- Problem-solving and demonstrating a keen attention to detail.
- Communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Working independently, prioritizing tasks, and managing time efficiently.
- ISTQB or other relevant software testing certification.
- Expert in diverse testing approaches.
- Proficient in both hands-on and automated testing strategies.
Desirable Criteria:
- Version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Performance testing, security testing, or other testing areas.
- Web development technologies knowledge (including HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Desktop application architectures.
- Agile development methodologies
- Jira/DevOps.

- Office Hours: Mon-Fri 9am-5.30pm. Hybrid working (2 days per week in our Norwich Office).
