Quality Assurance Specialist
The Role
The MRO Quality Assurance Specialist will help to author all MRO Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), will work on Quality Events (non-conformances, customer complaints, etc.), coordinate document change control and packaging change control, perform mock recalls, oversee and perform employee cGMP and other Quality related training, and generally focus on helping to ensure that MRO meets all relevant requirements of FDA 21 CFR parts 111 and 117. This is a full-time (40h/week), fully remote, salary-exempt position at $65,000-70,000/year.
Responsibilities
  • Author and train on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Oversee document control and document lifecycle.
  • Assist with recalls and mock recalls.
  • Investigate and close Quality events (non-conformances, Corrective actions/preventive actions, root cause analysis, customer complaints).
  • Assist in the creation of MRO Finished Product Specifications (FPSs) for each MRO finished product.
  • Assist the Compliance and Product Development and Innovation (PD&I) teams as necessary.
  • Ensure MRO compliance with all applicable FDA 21 CFR Part 111 and 117 requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Some travel (up to 5%) may be required on an as needed basis for manufacturer audits and other site visits, with advance notice provided.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience) or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of applicable government regulations for dietary supplements and related products. (e.g. FDA, FTC; cGMP knowledge beneficial but not required.)
  • Experience writing and training on SOPs preferred.
  • Experience with internal auditing and mock recalls preferred.
  • 2-5 years prior experience in dietary supplement or food Quality Assurance required.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Superb attention to detail.
  • Empathetic team-player.
  • Strong time and task management skills.
  • Proficient with Google Suite (or related software).
  • Experience in Asana or similar software (preferred)
  • Experience with Propel software (preferred)
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • This role involves sitting most of the time but may involve moving around for brief periods of time.
