Fixed Term Purge Welder
Introduction
This document provides an overview of the responsibility, leading and supporting task, experience, knowledge, personal traits & skills of the Purge Welder.
Responsibility
As the main representative, the Purge Welder has a key role in the organisation. The Purge Welderis responsible for a wide range of tasks such as completing the required work in time and in full to the required quality.
Tasks
The Purge Welder proactively initiates, executes, develops and evaluates in good cooperation with relevant employees, peers and Area Manager timely the following tasks:
Leading (Expert Function)
TIG/Purge Welding
· The operator is required to be able to read, understand and work to tolerances on engineering drawings
· The operator is required to be able to read and understand weld symbols
· The operator will be required to TIG weld to a standard set by the company
· The operator must be required to Purge weld to a standard set by the company
· The operator will be required to weld parts using a jig or freehand
· The operator is responsible for booking on and off jobs using the Bridgelogix operating system
· The operator is required to complete all work within the timeframe specified by the company
· The operator will be required to set and adjust the welding set accordingly, maintain and solve any minor welding set issues
· The operator is required to complete all work in accordance with the company’s health and safety policy.
Supporting (Support Function)
· Providing suggestions and input for Health and Safety improvements via the VMS Boards
· Providing suggestions and improvements for Quality of Products or Services via the VMS Boards.

· Experience within the given area of work.
· Able to read engineering drawings.

· OEM Experience.

· The Purge Welder reports to the Welding and Fabrication Manager.
