Furnished Homes is a family run contract furniture company which has been established for over 25 years and is seeking an additional purchasing assistant to join the team.

This position can be remote, hybrid or with the option to work from one of our offices located in Yate, Doncaster or Glasgow , you decide!. Working hours are ideally Monday to Friday 9-5 but we would consider applicants wanting to work 8am-4pm or 9.30am-5.30pm.
What you will be doing
· Communicating with suppliers regarding existing orders and returns/damages
· Organisation(s) of internal stock movement & organising booking, and liaising with transport companies.
· Maintaining internal systems including planned PO maintenance
· Stock taking preparation and data inputting
· Stock allocations for the planning team
· Building stock assembly orders as requested by the warehouse teams on our system
· Stock adjustments for damaged items
· Any other tasks within the purchasing department as requested by the purchasing manager
What we need from you
- Experience of Microsoft Dynamics would be advantageous but not essential however you will need to be confident with the use of various I.T systems, although some training for these will be provided being confident with technology is absolutely essential for this role.
- A positive, switched on attitude with a strong work ethic to get the job done on time and done well
- The ability to communicate clearly and professionally across a range of mediums. We communicate via a WhatsApp workgroup which you will need to install on your mobile along with Microsoft Teams.
- Attention to detail is very important to this role, you will need to be the kind of person who crosses their t’s and dots their i’s!
- You will need to be able to multi-task and be organised. You will need to have the ability to swap easily between tasks throughout the day.
- A suitable, dedicated place to work at home (a private space where you won't get interrupted), with natural light, and an excellent broadband connection is essential if you plan to work remotely or hybrid.
· Previous purchasing experience within a similar role preferred but not essential
