The role
As a Construction Reception Centre Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Major Infrastructure Projects (MIP) Reception Centre is a stand-alone gate. You’ll be the escalation point for all MIP access requirements and you’ll be responsible for the service provision of the construction reception centre.
Day to day, you’ll oversee the provision of a professional customer service and gateway to the Devonport site.
- Oversee the provision of an effective and efficient counter service to ensure that MIP Reception Centre is in compliance with Major Infrastructure Project delivery and MoD and Gov site access procedures.
- Promote the team ethos in the reception centre function.
- Attend programme updates and collaborate with Project Managers to understand the current requirement for MIP Reception Centre services considering change of working practises where possible
- To maintain and review metrics and measures within the Department (both input and output) that can be used to determine performance improvements, operational effectiveness
- Review the daily tasking to manage the workload of the individuals to maintain a good flow ensuring that a professional customer service is maintained
- The review of the partnering relationship processes to ensure that they remain efficient and effective.
Essential experience of the Construction Reception Centre Manager:
- It would be preferable for the candidate to have an understanding of relevant current stakeholder and business security requirements, policy, regulations and instructions.
- Member of DISA or Security Institute (desirable)
- Strong IT literacy skills
- Proven experience as a line manager
This is a full time role (36 hours) and is based onsite at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Qualifications for the Construction Reception Centre Manager:
- Holder of NPSA Foundation courses or willing to complete (desirable)
- GCSE English & Maths or equivalent.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role. Will accept BPSS until SC is cleared.
