British Airways Holidays are recruiting for a Public Relations Manager for a 12-month fixed term contract (to cover maternity leave in the team). This is an amazing in-house opportunity to join our busy and friendly marketing team and drive the PR for one of the UK’s largest tour operators.
The successful applicant will be responsible for both strategy and delivery, working alongside our marketing and digital teams as well as British Airways' communications and social media departments.
Our offices are based just outside Gatwick Airport and we are a hybrid workplace. Typically, this role will work from our offices (or BA’s head office near Heathrow) twice a week.
A travel PR background is desired, either agency or in-house, alongside strong media contacts in the sector.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creation and implementation of the PR strategy, developing PR campaigns which deliver positive media coverage and brand awareness in the UK market
- Draft and deliver all PR written communications
- Report and evaluate on all PR campaigns
- Build relationships with journalists and influencers, relevant to the sector and business
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maximise opportunities
- Crisis communications
Your essential skills & experience:
- Recent and significant PR experience, either agency or in-house (ideally in travel, but this isn’t essential)
- Proven ability to design, implement and manage multi largescale PR campaigns, simultaneously
- Experience of executing high profile news stories with strong media relations skills and experience
- Crisis communications experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence and ability to advise at a senior level on all PR matters
