We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and committed individual to take up the role of Graduate Trainee Public Health Practitioner in our innovative public health team. The post holder will lead on specific project work across a range of public health topics to ensure they gain a broad understanding across all the domains of public health.

About the role
This is a training role funded by Health Education England South East to grow a trained and diverse public health practitioner workforce. It is a 2.5 years’ fixed term contract, working towards Practitioner registration with the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR). The role will include:
- 1 day protected study day for the duration of the contract
- Support to undertake a structured development programme as part of this role, building on existing knowledge through further training and education to broaden knowledge, understanding and application across all domains of public health
- Opportunity to undertake placements and/or projects to gain a broad understanding across the three domains of public health

About you
You will be educated to degree or post graduate level in a public health or related discipline and prepared to undertake a structured educational development programme alongside delivery of public health programmes and projects.
Drawing on anchor institute principles as a local, large employer we are keen to recruit people from our local communities, therefore you will be someone who either has a working knowledge of the local geographic area or lives within the local geographic area. We welcome applicants who have experience or links with communities experiencing health inequalities across the local geographic area.
You will have the ability to undertake placements and/or projects to gain a broad understanding across the three domains of public health and be able to commit to completing all elements of the training programme, including undertaking projects, placements, full attendance at structured educational programme and completion of a portfolio towards professional practitioner registration with UKPHR through the 2.5 years contract.
