Job description
Studio 3 are the UK’s leaders in using low arousal approaches and positive relationships to support adults and children with concerning behaviours and poor psychological health. We are seeking an enthusiastic qualified practitioner with an interest and experience in working with adults and children with complex behaviours and the carers who support them in a range of different settings. As an integral part of a strong MDT consisting of senior clinicians, therapists and assistant psychologists, you will be responsible for providing and managing specialist therapy, bespoke training, assessment and practical support for people with diverse and complex health needs, their families and carers in a range of services including foster care services, children’s and adult services and the community. The role will include autonomous, lone working, including some working from home, supervision of less experienced colleagues and working as a team member with other professionals.
You will provide specialist psychological interventions including individual, group and systemic intervention as appropriate based around integrated low arousal, person centred and relationship-based approaches to supporting people with very complex behaviours. As a proactive member of the multidisciplinary team you will work collaboratively, consulting, supporting and advising non-psychological colleagues and professionals from local authorities and other agencies. You will be open to working with difficult to engage people, demonstrate respect and integrity for others, placing person-centred care at the forefront of your practice. You place high importance on thinking outside the box, turning theory into person centred practice and are keen to contribute to improving the wellbeing of the adults and children we support. Studio 3 place emphasis on research informed approaches and a desire to join in with our various research programmes is essential.
If you have experience of working with children and adults with diverse conditions and the carers and families who support them. If you have the ability to empathise and communicate in a sensitive manner, build positive relationships and promote and maintain the understanding of confidentiality and professional working boundaries, we would be very keen to engage in further discussion with you.
To be considered for this role you must hold an appropriate post graduate qualification and have a minimum of three years’ experience in an associated field. You must be or be able to become a member of the BPS with HCPC registration or a registered member of the BACP/UKCP or other recognised association. You will fully observe the BPS/BACP/UKCP code of conduct and keep up to date with developments in the field of psychology and therapy to ensure you meet the continued professional development requirements for the post.
