Job description
Electricity North West is looking for an experienced and collaborative Protection Engineer to join our inclusive team. This full-time Utilities role is based in Oldham and offers a salary of up to £74.475.55, dependent on experience plus excellent benefits.
As a Protection Engineer, you will work with the lead protection engineer and lead construction engineer to support the commissioning of capital plant and control systems on asset replacement, asset diversion and new connections projects at 33kV and 132kV.
In your first few weeks in this role, you can expect to be:
- Responsible for the commissioning of capital plant, circuits and control systems
- Delivery of protection maintenance work programmes
- Identifying and repairing protection faults and abnormalities
- Making sure all work is carried out in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and company codes of practice.
To apply for this Protection Engineer role, you will need an HNC level qualification in Electrical Engineering or degree-level qualification in electrical engineering. You will also require the following:
- AFNOR-ETA Introduction to Protection of Transmission and Distribution Systems Course or equivalent
- SAP authorisation at 11, 33kV and 132kV (desirable)
- Proven commissioning experience
- Well-developed project management skills, with an excellent understanding of resource management.
