Job description
We have two exciting opportunities to join NatureScot’s Protected Areas Monitoring and Surveillance team. In response to the nature and climate change emergencies NatureScot has set out ambitious targets to help Scotland halt the loss of biodiversity by 2030, and restore nature by 2045. Maintaining high quality data on our protected areas has a key role to play in achieving and monitoring progress towards these targets.
The posts sit within the Protected Areas Monitoring and Surveillance team, primarily supporting our national protected areas databases, which contain site and monitoring information. The posts will provide user support and guidance for database users, assist with the redevelopment of databases, carry out standard and ad hoc reporting as well as supporting the wider Protected Areas Innovation and Data Activity to deliver all protected areas elements of NatureScot’s corporate plan.
The posts are ideal for candidates who have no prior knowledge and are looking to develop new skills and knowledge, as well as those who have knowledge and experience of NatureScot’s work.
If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
Nature is vital to all of us, so it is vital that we are an organisation for all of Scotland. The more diverse NatureScot is, the better we will be in connecting everyone with nature. We particularly encourage applications from people from Minority Ethnic (ME) backgrounds and people with a disability.
