The Housing Team is a high profile coverage business within Real Estate and Housing, a key part of Corporate & Institutional Coverage (“CIC”). CIC is accountable for the overall management of relationships for Corporate and Financial Institutional clients whose turnover typically exceeds £100m.
The Housing team covers both Social Housing and Housebuilders with market leading positions in both market segments. We're passionate about supporting the delivery of much needed homes that are both sustainable and affordable and this is reflected in the strategy contained within the Bank’s 2023 ESG Report.
Since formation in 2018, the team has supported the release of over £15bn of new funding to the UK’s social housing sector including delivery of £3.4bn of ESG and Sustainability linked finance since 2021.
The team was awarded Residential Financier of the Year 2020 for two consecutive years, and also supported the wider real estate business in being voted Real Estate Capital, Sustainable Financier of the Year, Europe for three years in a row.
In Social Housing, the team is responsible for relationships with Regulated Social Landlords providing more than 1k homes across England and Wales and 2.5k homes in Scotland. Lloyds is the largest lender to the sector and the national portfolio consists of c.200 associations with a total of c. £14bn of lending exposure, we're also responsible for a further £4.7bn of funding by Scottish Widows.
As part of this role, the individual will be working alongside our Relationship Director and Associate Director to help lead a portfolio of clients to deepen these relationships as well as originating new and sustainable income and balance sheet opportunities. In order to facilitate this, the suitable candidate must have the ability to influence and persuade, by building trusting and collaborative relationships whilst communicating efficiently at all levels and across different audiences. This role provides a tremendous opportunity for a very hardworking individual to drive and lead our targeted growth aspirations in a sector which continues to play a key role in the Group’s Helping Britain Prosper strategy to support the recovery from the pandemic and the transition to a low carbon economy.
- Support the team by preparing written reports for new and existing facilities to assist the Relationship Directors in meeting customer requirements
- Responding to a wide range of client enquiries, resolving issues to the customers' satisfaction and raising matters as appropriate
- Proactively monitor and review customer facilities, including economic profitability, reporting on exposures, risk/reward ratios, product utilisation, use of banking services to ensure risk is acceptable and recommending actions as appropriate.
- Prepare and monitor a range of returns in an accurate and timely manner to provide senior management with information to monitor and control risk
- Undertake a broad range of financial, marketing and industry sector research tasks and provide up to date information on customer relationships to enable the Relationship Director to meet customer requirements and business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with other areas of the Group including Corporate Markets, Scottish Widows, Lex, Global Transactional Banking and Consumer Finance in an effort to access their specialist’s skills, acquire and exchange information and identify best methodologies.
