What you will be doing
- In liaison with the Bid Managers, Business Development Managers, Sector Directors participate and develop win strategies for all PQQ’s and tender submissions
- Proactively lead the planning, storyboarding, response reviews and the overall timely preparation of high-quality submissions
- Work alongside the Bid Manager(s) to drive the overall bid strategy and identity win themes / USPs of our approach
- Undertake storyboarding sessions with PQQ / ITT team members, working alongside the Bid Manager to ensure that all storyboards are reviewed.
- Support and deputise for the Head of Proposals
- Coach and develop the bid writing team
- Facilitate and lead Opportunity Start Up Mobilisation workshops, compile output and organise in-conjunction with the bid manager regular follow up meetings to conclude actions and ultimately improve our position
- Work with the Bid Manager(s) and Head of Proposals to develop a proposal structure, setting timescales for tender responses, and ensuring internal deadlines are met (escalating issues as required).
- Undertake lead author role on key bids, writing PQQ and ITT submissions, and providing critiques of draft responses, proof reading and copy editing.
- Translate complex technical & bespoke material from various sources into concise, easily understandable, organised, one-voice styled content.
- Be able to edit and proofread all documentation prior to submission, ensuring the bid and proposal documentation is formatted, collated and presented in a professional manner.
- Work alongside the Head of Proposals identify new processes, using industry experience and expertise to ensure progressive improvements in processes
- Support our operational teams for the behavioural requirements of bids, specifically, training/preparation of operations personnel prior to interviews/assessments and written responses
- Successfully work on multiple PQQs and ITTs
- Train, inspire and upskill bid and proposals teams so that they are better equipped to win work and take an interest in their personal development. Support the development of knowledge management tools.
- Be disciplined and flexible in achieving deadlines and have the ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads.
- Proven experience in the creation of bids and presentations to a high quality
Who we are looking for
- A sound understanding of the industry from working in the building or civil engineering sectors
- Enjoy mentoring and upskilling of junior staff
- A natural flare and ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to write about complicated and technical issues in plain English
- Strong interpersonal skill
