Job description
Amentum is looking for a Bid Manager to join our team. As a Bid Manager you will work with our BD Manager and Business Growth Director to deliver winning proposals. You’ll need to have a good understanding and working knowledge of UK public procurement routes and be able to interpret technical, management and commercial requirements. Typical activities include staffing a bid team; developing and applying bid strategies and win themes; directing and leading writing exercises and colour review activities; reviewing technical, legal and commercial content; and challenging the team to perform to their full potential. You’ll support tender governance activities, and any other campaign activities around a particular pursuit.
Essential Responsibilities:

Assembles and organises proposal teams, all authors and support personnel, and assigns specific responsibilities.

Develops and manages the bid schedule to meet all milestones.

Develops and coordinates win strategies with appropriate BD Manager/Programme Lead/Business Growth Director.

Assembles, organises, and manages proposal preparation teams, plans and manages all required meetings, provides training and direction, assigns specific responsibilities, monitors performance of team members, and provides corrective action as required.

Facilitates proposal strategy sessions, drives proposal schedules and proactively designs innovative presentations and proposals in keeping with the overall company values and branding.

Completes all proposal documents in accordance with the tender requirements.

Coordinates development of pricing models and subcontracting plans.
8.
Coordinates and conducts management team reviews.
9.
Ensure preparation of proposals that meet or exceed all tender requirements and customer expectations.
10.
Establishes and manages the proposal budget, resources, production staff and schedule.
11.
Applies LFE and obtains training and education necessary to meet or exceed current industry standards for development and production of proposals.
Socialises bid campaigns and proposal status reports with internal stakeholders and external teaming partners in accordance with the bid schedule.
Writes and edits proposal responses.
Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field, plus a minimum of 7-10 years (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Must be highly proficient with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint and integrated software applications.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and analytical skills are required.
Preparation of information for management presentations is required. Government contracting experience is desired.
Position will require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
