This is a busy role with key skills and accountability for
- Direct line management of our Welcome Manager, Facilities and Support Service Manager, Volunteering & Community Officer.
- Indirect you will be the on site lead at Ormesby for our ranger, gardeners, Food & Beverage, Collections, and Experience Officers
- All variety of tasks managing compliance, and facilities, visitor welcome volunteering, customer service.
This is hands on as a business operations manager to create a successful visitor business in a thriving established community centred National Trust property in urban Middlesbrough delighting our visitors and creating memorable days.

What it's like to work here:Ormesby Hall is a green lung in an Urban Landscape, the home of Ruth & Col Jim Pennyman for 400 years, the site consists of a Georgian Mansion, with a stable block set in acres of parkland. The property operations manager will lead and manage the site on a day to day basis reporting into the General Manager of the Portfolio of North Yorkshire & Tees Valley.
What you'll be doing:Being accountable for the day to day management, visitor operations and compliance of the site. Leading the team, creating a positive, inclusive and productive culture and work environment. You will lead for exceptional service, everytime for everyone ensuring a high quality visitor experience across the visitor journey. You will be accountable for meeting operational and strategic KPI’s relating to the property plan and facilitating successful delivery of projects including conservation and infrastructure. You will work with partner organisations ensuring we are delivering on our two clear priorities of Everyone Welcome and Climate Action.
- Who we're looking forExperience in operational management and a customer facing environment
- Leadership skills including coaching, motivation and communication
- Track record of managing budgets, finances, projects and contracts
- Can do attitude willing to adapt, roll your sleeves up and finding solutions
- Knowledge of operational risk and compliance.
