We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Property Analytics to join our Property Division here at Aldermore.
Reporting to the Managing Director, Property Division, you will lead an analytics team based in the UK and India to develop actionable insight using internal and external data. This insight is key and will be used to drive all aspects of our commercial strategy. This will include analysis to determine the value potential of different client segments, to optimise our prices and to set our first line credit risk appetite. Analysis will also be used to drive all key business decisions – for example, prioritising change initiatives and identifying the actions that will have the biggest impact on customer and colleague NPS scores.
As Head of Property Analytics, you will work in lockstep with the products, sales and operations teams to help drive a collaborative, aligned business with clear purpose, risk appetite and dynamism.
This role would suit an excellent leader looking to develop their career within Analytics, playing a key part in Aldermore’s future vision.
What would your day look like?
Build and manage a world class business analytics team, and a data led decision making culture across more widely:
- Set up a new team split between the UK and India with wide-ranging data analytics capabilities and the ability to communicate this in a way that enables critical decisions to be made quickly and effectively.
- Provide ongoing leadership and management of this team – operating a robust performance and development process, setting a clear vision, and managing key relationships with other teams.
- Be a wider enterprise leader on data and analytics across the Aldermore Group – helping build a wider community of analytical and data-led colleagues.

- Work collaboratively with other data functions across the organisation – for example, productionising useful insight into ongoing MI with the CDO team, and working together with the Credit Risk analytics teams to answer key business questions.
- Own the interface with relevant third-party data and analytics platforms, including broker sourcing systems, optimising Aldermore’s performance in these platforms and effectively utilising insight ingested from them.
Lead analysis that drives our strategy:
- Use a wide range of analytical techniques to generate insight that underpins and drives the Property Business strategy.
- This will include using internal and external data to identify new market opportunities for profitable growth within our risk appetite – including assessing organic and inorganic opportunities.
- Summarise and explain this insight within key committee papers to enable senior decisions – including to Aldermore Exco and Board.
Lead analysis that enables us to maximise risk and reward performance:
- Ensure all key decisions across the business consider both risk and reward through metrics such as return on equity, stressed loss and earnings volatility.
- Lead first-line credit risk including criteria, decisioning rules, use of scorecards and property risk to optimise risk and returns.
- Drive portfolio management and monitoring to ensure the Property division has a clear and comprehensive view of the risks it takes and of emerging risks that are yet to crystallise.
- Own the effective management of property risk, ensuring the division avoids undue exposures and increasingly takes a proportionate, dynamic approach to managing property risk that takes account of broker and customer experience, including via use of automated valuations.
- Provide meaningful analysis of the division’s credit risk profile and utilise data to develop lending criteria, mortgage affordability models and credit scorecards to meet strategic objectives.
- Work in partnership with Product, Risk and Finance to develop a strategic pricing architecture for the business – enabling us to optimise prices to deliver balance sheet growth and returns within our risk appetite.
Lead analysis that drives performance across our balanced scorecard in the short term:
- Generate analysis and insight that allows us to make data-led prioritisation decisions within our change agenda.
- Create one-off analysis to help better understand key business performance, and then work with the CDO team to productionise this MI where relevant e.g. pipeline management reporting, broker profitability analysis, product design decisions etc..
Be an active and effective member of the Property leadership team:

- Help define and shape our team culture.
- Take ownership of key cross business initiatives to embed that culture and that drive colleague engagement.
- Deputise for the Head of Property on key committees internally and externally as required.
