Class 1 Bulk & Bagged Driver - Lafarge Westbury
Wincanton are recruiting for Class 1 LGV Lorry Drivers to join our Tarmac contract. Collecting and delivering construction, building materials or bricks and blocks. Ensuring that deliveries are on time and that health and safety procedures are followed while offloading the products.
How will you contribute?
- £14.00 per hour Monday to Friday
- OTE – Up to £41,000.00
- £17.50 per hour - Saturday
- £21.00 per hour - Sunday
- Monday – Friday (+ 1 in 6 Saturdays)
- Start times between 04:00 and 06:00
- Minimum 2 nights out per week, but 4 nights preferred
- £26.20 per night out
- Weekly paid
- Permanent 40 hour a week contract
- Essential DCPC training
- Bulk tanker training provided
- 23 days paid holiday entitlement
- For every driver that you refer, you can earn an impressive £1,000 (subject to conditions)
Duties include:
- Ensuring all documentation is completed accurately with attention to detail.
- Adhering to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times.
- Complying with all relevant legislation in line with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive requirements (opt out available).
- Responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and others, completion of dynamic risk assessments, adhering to safe working practices and the Health & Safety at Work Act, including accident, incident and damage reporting.
- To ensure contractual KPI’s over delivery of product is undertaken in both a legally compliant and health and safety manner.
- Attending any relevant training as required to ensure you remain fully equipped to perform your role effectively and to assist in the development of continuous improvement.
- Keep the vehicle you use clean, tidy and well cared for, so it is ready to be used the next day.
What will you bring?
- Must hold a valid HGV LGV Class 1 licence
- Must hold a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC Card)
- Must hold a Digital Tachograph card
- Minimum 12 months Class 1 driving experience preferred
- Must not have more than 6 points on licence
- Must be fully flexible on working hours
- Possess excellent customer facing awareness
