An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Care Leaving / Property Maintenance Service, which is responsible for delivering high quality, and well-maintained accommodation to young people who are leaving care and taking the next steps on their journey to adulthood.
We are looking for a Property Maintenance Operative to join the existing team to support the management of our portfolio of properties located across North Lincolnshire.
The role will require you to be highly organised, with an eye for detail and the ability to work with vulnerable young people from various backgrounds to support them to develop household management skills and resolving any repairs issues as these arise.
You will also advise and support the young people on their responsibilities of maintaining a property and educate them about general household maintenance skills as part of wider life skills support.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified tradesperson, with experience in general trades including painting and decorating, general building maintenance repairs and improvements. General works will include changing locks, unblocking sinks and pipes, repairs to WC systems, leaking taps, bleeding radiators, decorating, fitting, and repairing window catches and locks, hanging doors, replacing and maintaining furniture etc.
Knowledge / experience of domestic plumbing and / or electrical installations, ideally with a qualification, would be an advantage.
