Role Details
The role will support Allianz’s ambition to meet its Net Zero target by 2030.
The post holder will co-ordinate the implementation of sustainability best practice guidelines for Property and Workspace Services.
The successful candidate will also utilise their knowledge and experience and work with various internal functions to ensure that Allianz UK has a best in class strategy to reach Net Zero by 2030 and support other ESG objectives.
Key functions of the role are:
- Lead the delivery of the actions identified by the minimum standards document and own knowledge
- Act as a SME, single point of contact for all things Sustainability/ESG/Net Zero related in Property and Workspace Services
- Create a Net Zero pathway to achieving 2030 Net Zero by utilising group guidelines, own knowledge and support from third party specialists, where appropriate
- Develop a governance and reporting framework of the UK Property Net Zero objectives, keeping track of progress, including updates to the UK Executive Committee and Steering group.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Property & Workspace Services in developing a pathway for UK properties to achieve Net Zero by 2030, including developing business cases for ESG/Net Zero at property or project level
- Fulfil any AZUK reporting requirements, through the development and provision of performance metrics based on agreed SLAs/KPIs, issued by the Group
- Play an active role in the Management Teams across PWS, contributing to meetings, supporting other members in achieving Allianz’s Net Zero/ESG ambitions
- Build effective key stakeholder relationships within both PWS and the wider business, including the Employee Sustainability Network, senior stakeholders within AZP and AZC, HR, Corporate Communications and any other pertinent individuals or stakeholder groups in order to drive forward UK’s Net Zero/ESG objectives
- Support the facilities, project and asset management remits within PWS with regard to implementation of ESG initiatives in day to day delivery
- Liaise with the supply chain to deliver identified ESG initiatives and to ensure that any sustainability opportunities are assessed and progressed where viable
- Use knowledge of any legislation, best practice guidelines and market trends to enhance Allianz UK’s ESG / Net Zero ambitions
- Support in creating and managing a Net Zero budget ensuring best value and governance around spend and reporting
- Attend meetings on ESG at group and UK level as required
- Act as a single point of contact for PWS relating to all ESG related activities, including feedback from the end users
- Provide support to the Facilities Managers/Regional Facilities managers in ESG related activities, including engagement with the Landlords/managing Agents
- Support property acquisitions and fit out projects as necessary to ensure they align with overall ESG objectives, including support with any site specific accreditations such as Fitwel, BREEAM etc
- Ensure that the PWS ESG strategy is aligned at all times with the ESG strategies at both Group and UK levels.
Skills and Experience
- Good knowledge and understanding of all aspects of Sustainability / ESG within the built environment
- Ideally, Sustainability / ESG experience gained within a FM / Property Management / Project Management perspective on supplier side or within a corporate organisation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Good understanding of the Net Zero / Sustainability / ESG frameworks
- Proactive approach to personal learning and development
- Self-motivated and capable of setting personal goals and achievement targets
- Track record of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strength in organisation and planning to ensure that deadlines and business objectives are met within fast paced environments
- Embracer of change that leads by example
- Awareness of strategic objectives and direction of travel of the organisation in terms of Sustainability
