Job description
Welcome to the Edge of Care (EoC) Service. We are dedicated to safely prevent and reduce the number of children and young people entering care and provide direct and intensive support to children aged 8- 18 years old and their families in their homes over a period of 4 – 12 weeks and beyond if there is a need.
We work with:
- children at imminent risk of entry to care or where a rehabilitation home plan is in danger of breakdown
- support planned rehabilitation plans when children are returning home
- children at risk of coming into care due to frequent missing episodes and/or risk of sexual and criminal exploitation
- children who have been permanently excluded from school or at risk of permanent exclusion
- families where family breakdown related in some way to child’s additional needs
- families where there is no parental control or ‘felt parental presence’
- families with high level of conflict/aggression (between parents, child and siblings)
