Senior Project Support Officer
Grade: AfC Band 6
Applications are invited for the post of Senior Project Support Officer. The post-holder will provide project support to the Head of Strategic Development, Programme Director and other senior team members in their roles leading the set up and management of the governance and programme structure for the Integrated Discovery & Diagnostics (IDD) and related programmes of work. Working as part of the IDD Programme team, the post holder will also provide project expertise as required to facilitate the development, delivery and monitoring of all aspects of the Programme.
The post holder must be Educated to Degree level standard (or equivalent) and will be expected to have a track record in project management.
The postholder will provide project support to the RM Strategy team and other senior staff at The Royal Marsden who are involved in the set up and management of the governance and programme structure for IDD, as well as other strategic programmes of work that may arise.
Working as part of the IDD Programme team, the post holder will also provide project expertise as required to facilitate the development, delivery and monitoring of all aspects of the Programme, developing and maintaining programme.

- Effectively engage appropriate internal and/or external project stakeholders, establishing effective links for the purpose of communicating all relevant aspects of the project, creating a liaison network where necessary.
- Build and maintain key relationships with these stakeholders, acting as a key link between them and regularly supporting or even leading meetings and workshops to facilitate their views and opinions.
- Responsible for ensuring that there is an appropriate communication infrastructure, for the purpose of dissemination of relevant information (decisions, actions, risks, etc.), where appropriate both internally and externally, in an effective and timely manner.
- Identify, either individually or jointly with others, any training requirements which may be linked to the project and ensure that such training is effectively delivered.
- To proactively move forward key outstanding areas, with key stakeholders as necessary to ensure the programme keeps moving forward in line with the programme timeline.
- Analyse progress of the project on a regular basis, with particular reference to the key milestones and targets.
