Job description
We're looking for a proactive and talented individual to join our Strategic Projects Team and help drive forward the strategic agenda of one of the UK's largest and most ambitious universities.
You will support the delivery of some of the unique, ambitious and transformative strategic projects within our institutional portfolio.
Our ideal candidate will have significant experience of working flexibly at pace in a complex environment, balancing competing priorities to provide high-quality project support.
Here at Manchester Metropolitan University, we are committed to developing an outstanding teaching and learning experience for our students, whilst also building a research-rich culture to address some of the biggest challenges facing society today. Key to delivering this agenda is our portfolio of strategic projects which will help transform the organisation and enhance our offer to students, staff and the wider community. These represent major strategic investments by the University aimed at generating a step-change; therefore, they are typically large scale and highly complex, involving multiple stakeholders and interdependencies across the institution.
The portfolio is managed by our Strategic Projects team, which provides dedicated, high-quality project and programme support. It ensures cross-project oversight and control, standardised reporting and management of risks, issues and project benefits. This is initially a fixed term position, for 2 years in the first instance.
What you will bring to the role
We are seeking a Project Support Officer to join the team and play a lead supporting role in the delivery of our exciting portfolio of strategic projects.
- You will act as the first point of contact for your project, working closely with the Project Manager.
- You will manage administrative support for your project, and provide support for the effective planning, co-ordination and delivery of strategic projects, becoming involved in specific project development tasks and work as necessary.
How to apply: Please submit your CV and covering letter (detailing your suitability for the role) via our application portal. For informal enquiries, please contact David Craddock (PMO Manager) on [email protected]
