Job Summary: The Project Manager will provide leadership for strategic projects by ensuring that there is strong alignment between strategy, goals, and implementation.

- Conduct Project Management activities as a billable consultant by supporting Project Leaders in delivering quality, efficient, and timely solutions
- Translate decisions into implementable projects and manage to successful implementation
- Plan, develop, monitor, and track projects schedules through project management system
- Manage budget and invoicing throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage a project portfolio to meet evolving deadlines by balancing and optimizing resources.
- Identify and document scope changes, ensuring timing and budget impact are communicated to all stakeholders
- Support the Account/Project Leader in all aspects of project management activities such as time-, resource and budget tracking, project planning, client interactions, and reporting
- Collaborate with project team to ensure timely delivery and quality of all project deliverables
- Responsible for meeting planning and meeting management
- Oversee QC process of a project by tracking contributions of stakeholders and assuring full document QC according to applicable SOPs
- Support invoicing processes including maintaining project status, planning invoice dates, and timesheet review and approval
- May provide operational support, including the ongoing development and improvement of business practices and processes
Communication
- Collaborate directly with sponsors and stakeholders in developing business requirements, business controls and implementation plans
- Communicate issues, issue status, and issue resolution on a regular basis
- Provide leadership and timely feedback to keep all stakeholders, including senior management, informed of project progress
- Lead and facilitate regular client status meetings for internal and external customers
- Develop and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reporting mechanisms as needed
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in project management, business administration, or relevant scientific discipline with a proven track record in integrated drug development
- Science based background preferred
- Professional Project Management Certification in PMP, Agile, SCRUM, ISO, Six-Sigma or ITIL preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or contract research organization(s) in positions of increasing responsibility in project management with at least 3 years relevant project management experience in multi-disciplinary drug development teams
- Proven ability to analyze complex issues to develop relevant and realistic solutions
- Demonstrated experience in building, leading, and motivating teams
- Strong track record of working with sponsors to translate decisions into actions and delivering complex projects on time, under budget, and with high quality
- Experience in optimizing the trade-offs within a set of projects to maximize the ROI and reduce the risk across a potential portfolio of investment
- Hands-on experience in scoping and executing complex projects
Skills & Abilities:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in project management, business administration, operations management, or relevant scientific discipline.
- Science based background is preferable, but not essential.
- Certification in PMP, Agile, SCRUM, ISO, Six-Sigma or ITIL a strong plus.
- Project Management experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, drug development, or contract research organization(s).
- Strong track record of working with sponsors to translate decisions into actions and delivering complex projects on time, under budget, and with high quality.
- Experience in optimizing the trade-offs within a set of projects to maximize the ROI and reduce the risk across a potential portfolio of investment.
- Experience interfacing with scientists on complex, data intensive projects with a deeply analytical set of scientific stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience in scoping and executing complex projects.
- Knowledge of project tracking and accounting software.
- Knowledge of Mavenlink and Netsuite is preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with project planning tools such as MS Project or similar and concepts such as task dependencies.
