THE JOB
The Company
Our client is a market leader in HVAC and Electrical Building Services engineering. They have a repeat turnover each year of £100m + and high number of Base Build and Shell & Core Building Services contracts. Their clients include some of the worlds most established financial institutions.
The Role
They require a I am a Mechanical Project Manager with demonstrable HVAC “Big Project” industry experience. You will be able to demonstrate project Management knowledge gained both on-site and Client facing. You should have a broad set of skills ranging from procurement and purchasing to on site co-ordination, installations, snagging and closing out projects. Knowledge standard Windows applications is essential together with a project history which has enabled you to adapt to new challenges quickly.
The ideal Project Manager will have strong organisational ability when the workload and demands are high. You should be positive, competent and personable, with good communication skills and attention to detail.
You will be liaising with both Client and Main Contractor representatives reporting to director level within our client’s organisation. Total values of M & E Project is forecast at circa £20M. These large City of London bespoke, high-rise developments includes renewable energy plant, integrated energy systems using Modular Plant Rooms (built off site) and incorporate Combined Heating and Power plant.
As Project Manager you will have direct reports from a team of Project Engineers working as a team to:
- Engineering and controlling all aspects of labour, equipment and plant on projects from £20m ensuring achievement of financial targets, and technical standards.
- Co-ordinate and control all aspects of direct and sub-contract labour, materials and plant ensuring satisfactory financial and client outcomes.
- Manage a system of cost and control in association with Quantity Surveyors.
- Liaise with other departments including, pre-contract, design, estimating, surveying, contracts and buying.
- Ensure compliance with the conditions of the project contract.
- Promote and ensure compliance with Company Health & Safety and Quality Assurance policy
- Provide information to the Quantity Surveying team to enable recovery of valuations and formation of reconciliations.
Qualifications & Experience
HNC/HND/B.Eng/Bsc in Building Services Engineering
Have completed an Engineering apprenticeship
