What we’ll offer
Our Project Managers play a key part in the delivery of Technology changes in Tesco Bank working with a variety of role types, in order to deliver technical solutions which are aligned to the Bank’s strategic business outcomes. You will have an opportunity to be part of the Bank’s transition to an Agile operating model, whilst bringing the rigour required through experienced project management.
The Role
The Project Manager ensures that projects which do not partly or fully lend themselves to an Agile delivery, either due to their size, complexity or implementation approach, can successfully deliver projects ranging in size and budget, pulling on all the resources required in order to successfully deliver. The PM will be within the Project management community of practise and could be allocated to a variety of projects and deliveries across all areas within the Technology Centre of Expertise Platforms area.
- As a Project Manager, you will be able to demonstrate experience in working closely with other business and technical stakeholders to shape projects into manageable deliverables.
- You will work with and across a wide range of different roles - Analysts, Project Managers, Engineers, RTE’s, Scrum masters, Product Managers and Product owners
- You will oversee the planning, financial management and scheduling of projects for development work using input from colleagues in Technology.
- You could be responsible for the line management and development of other staff as well as the project management of the delivery resources assigned to your projects.
- This will also involve ensuring there is a focus on the coaching and personal development for those you are assigned line management of.
- You will be able to demonstrate excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, collaborating with business and engineering resources of all levels.
What you’ll bring
You will be able to demonstrate previous experience of the following:
- Experience in a Project management role, managing either a large more complex project or more than one delivery changes/ small projects at any one time.
- Have experience of dealing with deliveries from 3rd parties and required integration into existing in-house applications and processes.
- Preferably have experience of line management and development of staff.
- Preferably have some experience in a Financial Services or Payments environment.
- Strong appetite to manage the delivery of projects which warrant a Waterfall approach to delivery, however also having the flexibility to work within an organisation which is adopting Agile ways of working.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
- Knowledge of current technology trends and methodologies.
- Experience of working in an organisation using the SAFe delivery framework would be desirable but not essential. #LI-KP1
