Role overview:
The Senior PMO Manager (Project Controls) forms part of the Senior Leadership Team to build a Controls and Project Management Office for a global portfolio of major and mega-scale building projects.. This is a large-scale Engineering/Manufacturing build that will test convention and eventually have a global impact on sustainable energy and how we utilise that. This role is unique in both environment and build and you will set the foundations for success.
Initially the role will be Hybrid based out of Coventry - there may be some travel in the future.
What you will be doing:
Initially this role will be all about the setting up a PMO Office and setting the controls that give teams the processes, controls, templates and governance effectively - this will include building your team to come with you on the journey. You will do this working in a fast paced 'start up environment where all the answers aren't there.
As the role evolves and the programme moves into build phase you will play a key role in ensuring the large-scale project governance, budget and cost control. There is a huge amount of stakeholder engagement and coms needed so you will also create and implement effective reporting.
What we will need from you:
You will need to have experience working in a Senior role within PMO of large CAPEX projects in an Engineering/Manufacturing/Automotive Environment. In terms of environment this will have a start-up feel, you should be comfortable working in that way and not having everything you need to hand.
You will have a lot of information in this role and you will be able to communicate this effectively to all levels of stakeholder including board level. You may be standalone in the role initially but eventually you will recruit and lead a team on the journey with you, being able to lead them effectively will be critical to the success.
Finally comms, this is central role you will have experience in collaborating with other teams who are experiencing similar pressures to yourself to achieve the overall project aims.
Technical Qualifications:
Professionally qualified in programme/project management (e.g., APMP, MSP) or other built environment-related discipline (e.g., RICS).
