We are currently searching for a Senior Project Manager who will come and continue to drive forward a portfolio of complex projects that feed into our Transformation programme. This role has full project lifecycle ownership and will lead multiple project teams across different subject areas.

What you will be doing:

  • Guiding and directing project managers, ensuring that effective project controls are established and maintained for all projects within their span of control.
  • Influencing, organising and advising project teams, setting clear goals and establishing priorities.
  • Optimally engaging the customer, subcontractors, third parties and project team members throughout the duration of each project, developing positive, enduring relationships (up to and including “C” level);
  • Ensuring that a clear understanding of projects’ progress, plans, risk, and status is regularly, clearly and accurately reported, identifying and resolving problems wherever they arise.

What you’ll bring:

  • Full project life cycle ownership demonstrating successful project delivery that includes full implementation from initiation to deployment for at least one or more major initiatives, preferably simultaneously. Proven track record to be in control of a portfolio of complex initiatives that span multiple matrixed teams
  • Excellent experience in SDLC Methodologies, Agile, SCRUM, Agile / Waterfall.
  • Build and cultivate relationships by engaging client leadership to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives.
  • Strong leadership with a thoughtful and motivational approach to be able to build and empower team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project achievements.
  • Identify and develop trusted adviser relationship with internal, external and client project and programme customers and sponsors.
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating the ability to get under the skin of a problem and drive through early resolution across multiple teams.
  • Strong experience speaking publicly to executive sponsors and proven communication skills, both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management.

It would be great if you had:

  • Current Project Management certification
  • Budget management experience
  • IT software solutions experience
  • Experience within a defence or public sector

Employment Type: Full-time Permanent

Location: UK wide – Travel to Gosport, London and Glasgow on an ad-hoc basis required

Salary: Up to £85,000 dependent on experience
