Full Time, Permanent
Salary £32,000- £36,000 per annum plus benefits
We are recruiting for a Project Specialist to join our team based in Glasgow. This role will be responsible for both Project Management and Continuous Improvement Delivery, across our Strategic Pillars of Guest Experience, Our Train, Our People and Our Business.
Reporting to our Head of Business Improvement, our Project Specialist will support in the delivery of projects, in a timely and efficient manner whilst managing and facilitating continuous improvement activities using Lean methodology. This vital role will ensure we are truly data led, by undertaking data gathering and analysis, using problem solving and root cause analysis.
Main accountabilities:
Be the Project Lead for assigned Projects and Initiatives
Creation and management of Project lifecycle documentation, Templates and Tools
Responsible for Managing, Monitoring of Status reporting of projects
Effective Stakeholder management with both project teams and business stakeholders
Leading the Presentation of Status reporting at Steering Committee level, being clear on what decisions are required
Effective communication across the project team and wider business to ensure understanding of the project progress, issues and risks
Responsible for preparation of governance material as required
Coordinate the planning, direction, risk management, cost & benefit tracking, throughout the delivery of assigned projects
Managing changes as these occur during the delivery of projects
Responsible for the lessons learnt log of projects and ensuring outcomes are actioned and shared
Work with the Head of Business Improvement to identify priorities, successful best practice, and opportunities to improve through project support and delivery
Following Continuous Improvement methodologies you will;
Ensure problem statements are defined and measured
Lead on Process mapping activities to document the as-is vs. to-be
Lead problem solving exercises to form solutions to improve business practices and processes
Measuring and tracking as per defined metrics
What you'll need to do the role
Essential
Highly organised & a Self-starter with an ability to work collaboratively, influence and drive change
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate their message to influence at all levels
Proficient with handling large amounts of data and operating within a complex environment, demonstrating a strong attention to detail
Agile/Six Sigma Qualification
Skilled in the use of the Microsoft office suite; Microsoft Teams, Excel and Visio (Using excel to perform data analysis is critical element of role)
Experience of project management and utilising a variety of project management tools to successfully carry out your role
Ability to push and drive project delivery. To run several projects at any one time; being able to prioritise workload
Committed to the highest ethical and professional standards
Ability to stay calm under pressure
Enjoys working with people as the role will mean getting people onside with your ideas
