Main Purpose of the Job
Based in our Manchester office you will lead and support our design teams delivering projects including, but not limited to Highways, Rail Infrastructure and Building sectors. The successful post holder will be responsible for the delivery of technical outputs of projects or service areas to the meet the client’s brief.
You will be responsible for managing the effective delivery of our design services across a range of varied and interesting projects to cost, programme and the required quality. This will be a challenging and exciting role which will be well suited to a highly motivated and organised team player.
We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience as PM or Programme manger working for TfGM, Merseytravel, LCRCA and NW regional local authorities. You will be an expert at leading projects either as Project Manager or Project Director. This includes client relationship, commercial strategy, risk identification and mitigation, and appointing an appropriate Project Manager with respect to the complexity and risk of the project.
This is a Senior position within the business, so we would expect you to be Chartered and have at least 10 yrs experience within the project management field.
Main Duties and experience require
- Knowledge and experience of two or three of the sectors as per project(s) description(s) and local construction market
- Experience and suitable Qualifications to act as NEC ECC Project Manager delivering the role in line with the requirements of the New Engineering Contract (NEC)
- Be able to edit, manage, interrogate, and approve complex programme using appropriate software (P6 / MS Project)
- Pre and post contract design /project management expertise over the RIBA lifecycle
- Working knowledge of professional PM software (CEMAR, PMP, ORACLE etc)
- Proficient experience with bidding and work winning practices
- Team leadership to include line management, training and mentoring of junior staff
- Excellent working knowledge of CDM regulations
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to deliver robust stakeholder management processes
- Ability to maintain accurate project records to contractual requirements
- Ability to present to a large group
- Ability to chair and take accurate notes of meetings
