Job description

A challenging and rewarding Project Assistant role is required to support the Pathmakers CIO deliver its Walk Norfolk Project. We ran a pilot project in 2023 with Norfolk walking activities and a festival and are looking to expand our activities as well as finding out more about target groups not currently going out walking as identified in the Norfolk Access Improvement Plan and involving them in the coproduction, design and delivery of future activities.

A proven track record of high quality business support in a project delivery environment, working with a range of project specialists is required in this important role. You must have demonstrable skills and experience in project support role and it is desirable that you have some experience of working in the environmental sector.

Good administration and time management skills will be essential in this role supporting the Project Officer. The role will require dealing with the necessary project administration, including supporting the Trustees and the partner networks. Support will also be required for the necessary project communications, including contact with stakeholders, monitoring the website and social media and managing contact databases. Work gathering data from participants for the evaluation of the project is also required.

Previous knowledge and experience of assisting with project management, using Microsoft office software is essential as well as a basic knowledge of Wordpress although training will be given on the administration of our website. An interest in walking, the environment and conservation and some experience working with and motivating groups who find it difficult to access the countryside such as those with disabilities or visual impairments or living with dementia will be helpful.

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as part of this role. Travel within Norfolk is required at times, so applicants should hold a driving license to allow them to travel to places not available on public transport.
