project manager Manchester, England
Job description
Our aim is to be the leading global provider of solutions that enable customers to release £30bn of value per annum from distributed energy resources (DERs). We are building a Software as a Service (SaaS) subscription business with a global addressable market of £2.4 billion per annum, by digitally connecting hundreds of thousands of DERs with energy markets.
We have already attained a market leading position and KrakenFlex is a recognised thought leader and innovator in the industry. Our efforts have not gone unnoticed and we are pleased to announce that we now have the full support and backing of Octopus Energy, an award-winning UK energy supplier who share our passion and values.
As we enter a stage of rapid commercialisation and growth, we’re looking for a Junior Delivery Manager / Junior Project Manager to drive delivery of a number of customer asset onboarding projects. The aim of each project is to successfully onboard new customers and each of their assets (such as grid scale batteries and large energy assets) onto our Software as a Service Platform.
This role would be ideal for someone who has been part of the Energy or Electrical Engineering Projects looking to transition into a more project focused role.
What you'll do
- Plan, monitor and proactively manage a set of customer onboarding projects, implementing best practice and best in class toolsets.
- Run project kick-off meetings with the customer, and lead the creation of a realistic plan and statement of work to describe the scope and milestones of the project
- Coordinate internal and external team members to drive delivery of the project
- Proactively manage stakeholder expectations, and communicate progress to internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis
- Proactively manage risks and communicate any issues and mitigation strategies clearly to stakeholders, removing blockers and impediments to delivery where possible
- Post-transition, manage any customer support and engagement activities, ensuring customer issues and queries are resolved within SLA and to the customers satisfaction
What you'll need
- Experience in the Energy or Electrical Engineering Projects
- An understanding of project management
- Experience dealing with corporate customers, setting and managing expectations and effectively dealing with issues.
- Excellent communication skills showing the ability to summarise complex problems and recommend concise plans of action.
- Self motivated with an eye for detail, with a very clear and organised approach to delivery
- A drive to get things done in a collaborative fashion, with a proven ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
