MIB is a not-for-profit organisation at the heart of the fight against uninsured driving. This is a problem that seriously affects the lives of those involved in traffic collisions and costs millions of pounds every year. We work in partnership with the Police, Insurers and Government to tackle uninsured driving.
The role of the Programme Management Office Lead is to embed appropriate oversight and governance of practise across our three strategic programmes in the change portfolio.
You will oversee the work of PMO Analysts who will be supporting the programmes whilst you will maintain ownership and full responsibility of the 4 key services - planning, deliverable management, resource planning & Financials.
You will be responsible for ensuring our strategic programmes are following our change framework standards throughout the entire programme lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery for our customers, both internal and external.
It is essential to have project planning experience for this role. Project budget management, and resource planning is also essential.

- Leadership; Responsible for overseeing the work of the Programme PMO Analysts, and thus taking ownership of the resulting quality of each programme. You will manage and oversee their daily activities (such as SteerCo decks, meeting minutes, actions, RAID etc) offering guidance and mentoring where appropriate.
- Programme Planning; Owner and controller of the project plans for each of our three strategic programmes, working with Programme Managers and Workstream Leads to ensure plans have the appropriate level of detail and traceability across deliverables.
- Deliverables Management; Ensuring programme deliverables are correctly scoped, tracked and managed via the deliverables sign off process, maintaining full audit trail of version controlled artefacts and sign off evidence.
- Resource Planning: Work with Programme Managers to ensure programmes are resourcing against scope and budget. Support with the development of effective resource and capacity demand process.
- Financial Management: Main point of contact for financial queries on the strategic programmes. Maintaining financial trackers for each of the programmes, tracking spend vs actual against agreed budgets. Facilitate monthly finance reviews with the Finance Business Partner.
- Advocate and champion of the Change Framework, embedding processes and artefacts; supporting an effective balance between oversight and governance and effective and efficient implementation.
- Actively lead in bringing strong Programme Governance that supports both Agile and Waterfall methodologies across the strategic programmes.
- Fosters and maintains effective working relationships with key supporting business areas and ensures business process alignment
- Experience is essential in project planning, budget management, and resource planning.
- Experience of (or ability to) lead a small team and provide mentorship where necessary.
- Proven experience of PMO processes, controls, artefacts, and management
- Finance and analytical experience to manage large scale programme accounting is desired.
- Knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages, including Project, Power BI, Automate, Visio, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- Strategic mindset, with the ability to focus on both big picture and practical impacts.
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent presentation skills specifically utilising visuals.
- Understanding of the importance for detail and organisation.
- Excellent prioritisation skills to balance key priorities.
- A strong customer centric approach.

Salary circa £70,000 per annum depending on experience
FTC for 12 months
