We at the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Dreadnought Supply & Support Team (DSST) in Barrow-in-Furness.
The DSST is responsible for delivering Government Furnished Assets (GFA), including equipment, information, and resources, into the Dreadnought Design and Build Programme, and for managing the transition of Dreadnought into the Royal Navy. This includes establishing the through life support solution, ensuring training provision for Dreadnought’s maintainers and crew and establishing both the physical and information infrastructure to support Dreadnought in-service.

As a Project Manager within the DSST, you will work hand-in-hand with the GFA Asset Management Team to successfully receive and handover GFA to BAE Systems, in line with the build programme. You will engage with a range of stakeholders across the Dreadnought Alliance (SDA, BAE Systems and Rolls Royce) at various levels of seniority in order report progress and address emergent issues.
This exciting opportunity will see you prioritising a fluctuating workload and analysing data to make informed decisions and recommendations that enable and support delivery of the UK’s Submarine Programme. You will be supported by your manager and wider team to achieve your career goals and aspirations with mentoring available to fulfil your potential and funding for industry-recognised qualifications.
At the SDA we operate a hybrid working environment. It is expected that you will attend the site approximately three days per week, according to business need. Occasional travel to our Abbey Wood site and overseas (USA) may be required, for which your expenses will be paid for. Initially you will be expected to the attend more frequently to familiarise yourself with the specific site, the team, and the projects you will be working on in more detail.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading, managing and developing multidisciplinary teams covering a range of subject areas within associated semi-complex projects, multiple simple projects or complex control accounts.
- Accountable for the delivery of their projects' outputs within the performance/cost/time envelope for a semi-complex project, multiple simple projects or complex control accounts.
- Support an open, honest, no blame culture. Actively highlighting failures and shortfalls positively and drawing through LFE into the project or control account, advising on mitigations and engaging with OBI owner to mitigate wider occurrence.
- Responsible for embedding and adhering to all governance and policy and enable the required compliance throughout their team, ensure appropriate challenge and gain approval to deviate when necessary.
- Lead the construction (through the Project Controls Function) of the Performance Measurement Baseline for the control account.
