Job description
We’re a friendly SME contractor based in the South West & South East of England and are currently seeking an experienced project manager to deliver mainly self-delivery projects alongside our projects delivery team across the South, South East and South West regions, the works range from £30k to in excess of £2m and are mainly fabric and M&E fitout/refurbishment.
The role will encompass a diverse portfolio of public funded and blue-chip clients, this will include managing multiple projects at any one time from concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- The financial performance and reporting of all projects.
- Responsible for the co-ordination and control of the project from the design stage, through to completion and the handover of the project to the client.
- Day to day management of operations on site, ensuring that the project is brought to a successful completion and meets the required time, budget and quality constraints/standards.
- Ensuring timely management of any unforeseen delays.
- Effectively programme and manage all works.
- Liaise with the other management team members to ensure adequate labour and sub-contract resource is available on site.
- Plan and organise suitable labour to meet project requirements.
- Plan and efficiently organise the site facilities and logistics, ensuring all equipment on site is fit for purpose and only operated by appropriately trained staff.
- Procure all materials and oversee the deliveries and ensure they are done so in adequate time in line with the construction programme and procurement schedule.
- Supervise, manage and motivate all site team staff including effective management of direct labour and sub-contractor activities on site ensuring they are engaged, on target in line with the master programme.
- Ensure workmanship and material standards are achieved in accordance with specifications, building regulations, health and safety legislation as well as our own quality standards.
- Ensure site team and sub-contractors are following common operational standards.
- Maintain close relations with client Project Manager and Contract Surveyor regarding cost control, waste management, variations and Confirmation of Instructions.
- Attend and in some instances plan and deliver weekly review meetings with clients and subcontractors.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of own activity related to projects to enable traceability.
- Carrying out safety inspections and fulfilling the health, safety and welfare responsibilities when and as required.
- Create and maintain good relations with clients, staff and subcontractors as well as any other stakeholders.
- Collation of health and safety information to suit client requirements.

- Trade background
- Working independently with minimal guidance.
- Good level of IT skills to include, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Outlook
